PMP (Paper Machinery Producer) has signed a contract for a delivery of Intelli-Jet V^® Hydraulic Headbox, Intelli-Nip^® Shoe Press and Intelli-Sizer^® Metering Size Press for Zhejiang Jingxing Paper Joint Stock Co., Ltd. The agreement has been established in April 2019. The items will be implemented on PM10 in Pinghu, Zhejiang, China.

The main goal of the rebuild is by adding the metering size press to increase the strength and paper surface quality, as well as the efficiency to lower the cost. The machine with new PMP key sections will produce kraftliner board with basis weight of 200-320 gsm, design speed of 550 mpm and sheet width on reel 4950 mm.

The New Intelli-Sizer^® Metering Size Press with carbon fiber metering heads will ensure the uniform of starch application and dramatically increase the sheet strength and quality, reduce the sheet breaks for better runnability. The change of configuration for press section by adding new Intelli-Nip^® Shoe Press with Intelli-DCR^® as second press will maximize the amount of water removed from the sheet and optimize machine efficiency. The Intelli-Jet V^® Hydraulic Headbox will replace the current local cushion headbox which helps for better basis weight profile, sheet formation and fiber orientation.

The scope of supply includes design, supply and onsite services. The delivery and start-up is planned in the first quarter of 2020.

The Tissue sector is performing a continuous growth worldwide, and this trend is about to even strengthen in the coming years. Currently tissue papers are daily necessities of every human being. Taking current trends into account, Latin America and Eastern Europe are the key areas that are ready to grow.

Convertidor de Papel, S..A de C.V. (Convertipap) is a paper producer that decided to follow above trends and to expand its tissue business. Now, the family business has strategically expanded and has two plants located in the Mexican Republic; but it’s not over, currently Mexican producer decided about another investment, that will shift its business to the next level.

The company just announced a market expansion that will be possible thanks to the investment in the new tissue machine, that will be added to its already impressive fleet. Convertipap decided to award PMP (Paper Machinery Producer) with an order for a delivery of Intelli-Tissue^® Advanced 2100 Tissue Machine.

PMP will supply a new Crescent Former Intelli-Tissue^® Advanced 2100 machine with a maximum capacity of 41,000 tpa, reel trim of 2850 mm and the maximum balance speed of 2100 mpm. Machine will produce high quality tissue with the basis weight range of 12.5-40 gsm at the reel.

The new project will be an exciting step in the Mexican’s market development. Convertipap presents an aggressive development strategy with a plan to continue its increase of the market share. One of the main goals is to become the preferred tissue supplier in the Mexican region, offering a wide span of premium tissue products.

PM6 will be equipped with state-of-the-art equipment designed and manufactured by PMP, including core technological units, such as hydraulic headbox Intelli-Jet V^®, Intelli-Former^® CF type, Intelli-Press^®, gas heated yankee hood Intelli-Hood^®, 15’ steel Yankee Dryer Intelli-YD^® as well as reel Intelli-Reel^® with extended rail storage. Scope of supply will cover also stock preparation system, dust & mist removal systems, recovery steam generator, mechanical & electrical drives, steam & condensate system, vacuum system, lubrication system, TM controls, baseplates, start-up supervision and training services. Delivery and start-up are scheduled for the middle of 2020.

The whole project will definitely open the door to success both for Convertipap, that is continuously developing in the Mexican market, but also for PMP, as their first tissue project in Mexico will be its flag reference in the Latin American market.

In July 2017, PMP (Paper Machinery Producer) signed a contract for a delivery of wet end rebuild with a new Intelli-Jet V^® hydraulic headbox, fourdrinier and reel rebuild for Australian Paper’s paper machine (PM4) located in Morwell, Australia.

It is a big pleasure to announce that PM4 with new PMP Intelli-Jet V^® hydraulic headbox, fourdrinier and reel has started up smoothly on September 10^th at 4:12 am of local time. First jumbo roll appeared on the reel at 4:54 am. Two days later, machine started to produce saleable paper.

The scope of supply covered new 4-channel Intelli-Jet V^® hydraulic headbox of 7 m pondside. This unit ensures excellent formation and production flexibility for the mill (basis weight from 110 to 270 g/m²). Headbox technology is a part of PMP’s Intelli-Paper^® platform for papermakers. Over the years PMP Intelli-Jet V^® hydraulic headbox has become an iconic solution in the Pulp & Paper Industry. Currently, there are over 150 PMP’s headboxes working successfully on 6 continents.

The scope of delivery included also stock approach equipment (attenuator, LS Screens – 3 units), fourdrinier and reel rebuild.

The project goal was to improve CD profile, tensile ratio and formation of the final product and increase the machine speed to 750 mpm. It is worth to mention that it is already second PMP Intelli-Jet V^® hydraulic headbox working in Australian Paper Maryvale mill. The first one was implemented on PM2 on April 2018. This is a good example of a solid partnership between PMP and Australian leader in paper making.

On June 4^th, 2018, PMP (Paper Machinery Producer) signed a contract with Arctic Paper Kostrzyn, for a PM1 press section rebuild, that includes a delivery of a new Intelli-Nip^® Shoe Press.

Arctic Paper Kostrzyn S.A. for several years has been consistently working on its assets modernization. Previous investitions were conducted to prepare PM1 for a future, significant capacity increase. The name of whole project is ”315” [thousand tons of capacity for whole plant] and it will be completed in 2019, when the new press section with PMP Intelli-Nip^® Shoe Press will be implemented at the PM1.

The main goal of the ”315” project is to increase manufacturing capacity, to boost paper properties and to implement energy saving solutions. Arctic Paper has decided to choose state-of-the-art solutions provided by PMP, and invested in a press section equipped with Intelli-Nip^® Shoe Module. Solutions that will be designed and manufactured by PMP, will play a key role in the ”315” project final success. What is most important, it will allow to improve the after press dryness from 43% before rebuild, to up to 50% after rebuild. It is also worth to mention that each 1% of dryness brings around 4% of steam savings in the dryer section. Furthermore, Shoe Press technology will significantly improve final product quality (especially its bulkness and bursting strength), it will also majorly improve PM1 runnability.

Intelli-Nip^® Shoe Press technology is a great combination of energy saving solutions & impressive paper properties and is nowadays a desired solution worldwide. Recently PMP has executed number of projects that included shoe press solution, for example in USA, Mexico, Colombia, China and Poland. For Arctic Paper Kostrzyn S.A., it will be a huge step in whole plant development.

PM1 is producing writing and offset papers, with the basis weight of 60 up to 100 gsm. PM1’s current operating speed is on the level of 700 mpm, with a plan to increase it up to 1000 mpm after rebuild. PMP’s scope of supply covers press section with Intelli-Nip^® Shoe Press (design nip load 600 kN/m, module dia 1100 mm). In addition, PMP will supply most of the controls equipment, spare parts and on-site services, including on-site erection, start-up supervision. The assembly and start-up are scheduled for the year 2019.

On 29^th March 2018, PMP (Paper Machinery Producer) signed a contract with Baoding Yusen Health Supplies for the delivery of (2) Intelli-Tissue^® EcoEc 1600 Premium lines.

The (2) Intelli-Tissue^® EcoEc 1600 Premium will be characterized with 3500mm reel trim, operating speed of 1600 m/min, daily capacity 75 t/d and a basis weight 12.5-31 gsm each. This project will be based on a PMP Integrated Tissue Mill concept, which means 2 machines (left-hand and right-hand) in the same building, a shared control room as well as a warehouse. The same model of right and left hand machines layout in one building is the most compact solution and the two machines can share a common spare parts base. As a result, both space and costs are saved as well as number of personnel required to run the installations. At the same time high production flexibility plays a significant role in achieving top installations effectiveness.

The PMP’s scope of supply will cover for each machine: the single layer Intelli-Jet V^® hydraulic Headbox, 4-roll Intelli-Former^® Crescent Former, Intelli-Press^® equipped with Intelli-SPR^® dia 1400 mm which will maximize the amount of water removed from the sheet, 16ft Steel Intelli-YD^®, Intelli-Hood^® (YD cap type) and Intelli-Reel^®. In addition, PMP will provide mechanical drives, electrical drives, lubrication system, steam & condensate system, dust & mist removal systems (on machine parts only), DCS and control system. The PMP team will also provide erection supervision and technological start-up.

The new project will be implemented based on the Optimum Cost Solution philosophy by executing the tissue machine fully designed in Europe (PMPoland), manufacturing of the key components such as a hydraulic headbox and a steel Yankee in Europe, and the remaining manufacturing, as well as tissue machine pre-assembly and tests completed at the PMP Center of Excellence: PMP IB, Changzhou (China). This combination allows to lower a cost of investment for the customer, while maintaining the premium quality of the equipment supplied. Both machines will start-up by the end of 2019.

PMP’s PSF Technology is aimed to generate cost savings and to increases profitability in paper making.

The Paper Surface Functionality (PSF) concept was developed to support paper mills in improving the useful properties of paper or board. Combinations of various layers of barrier chemicals, coating colors and starches can be applied in a purposeful and selected sequence on the paper or board surface and in controlled amounts. PSF Technology utilizes a special spraying application technology and has an advanced process design for feeding and re-circulating the flow of material to the surface treatment units.

PMP is developing the concept in close co-operation with Patrick Sundholm Ltd Oy. Pilot equipment is installed on a state-of-the-art pilot coater in KCL research plant in Otaniemi, Finland. Furthermore, a cylindrical laboratory coater (CLC) enabling pre-trials has been installed by KCL.

The technology can be implemented as retrofits in existing paper machines or off line coaters.

The pilot is a platform for developing enhanced and new paper and board grades. The trials are run with the clients in accordance with strict confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements.
