Get better image quality with a simple light upgrade
The new generation of LED lights we just introduced uses custom LEDs that are more energy efficient than other types of light. The strobing (pulsing) mode allows the light to operate wth less energy and to last longer. Papertech leads the industry with this particular feature, which not only reduces the energy consumption but also maintenance and utility costs.
An upgrade from WebLite FX to the already successful WebLED28-SX light will provide you with more light, which means better image quality and higher shutter speeds. Among the new features are interchangable optics, a cooler surface, is optimized for WebVision digital cameras and is compatible with all analog cameras.
You can learn more about the light by clicking here.
The following light efficiency table shows how much light is generated (lumens) for the same amount of energy (watts):

In today's How-to-Video we show you how to upgrade to WebLED28SX from WebLite FX. Click here to watch it. (You will be redirected to Papertech's website). Its is also hosted below.
The How-to-Videos series is a practical, step-by-step video guide to show you how to perform certain preventative maintenance tasks and also to provide you with useful tips to improve the overall performace of your WebVision system. It's a great resource tool designed for first time users but is also a great refresher for more experienced WebVision practitioners.

ÅF AB Interim Report January - June 2012
The second quarter continued to see brisk demand for ÅF's consulting services in the Nordic and the Baltic countries, while the state of the economy in other international markets meant that the picture elsewhere was more varied.
ÅF's operating profit rose to SEK 122 million (111) with an overall operating margin of 9.0 percent (8.5).
The improvement in earnings owes most to a slight increase in capacity utilisation at the same time as costs were reduced. It is especially noteworthy that the Infrastructure Division grew its business by approximately 18 percent and improved profits by 60 percent. The Industry Division is also continuing to deliver good results and reported an operating margin of 12 percent. Profitability for the Technology Division, however, was negatively affected by wind-up costs charged to the accounts in the second quarter.
While profit levels for the International North and International South divisions are still not satisfactory, they were better than in the previous quarter. There have also been some positive signals in terms of market trends, although in this regard Russia has been something of an exception.
ÅF's cash flow remains strong, thanks in particular to ongoing efforts to reduce tied-up capital.
Growth for the ÅF Group as a whole totalled 4.5 percent. If the operations of ÅF Russia - where there are considerable fluctuations in project deliveries from quarter to quarter - are excluded from the figures, growth rises to just over 10 percent, most of which is organic. Today ÅF has 5,000 highly qualified co-workers in around 20 countries, and our appeal as an employer has never been greater.
Our fundamental objectives remain unchanged: to continue to generate levels of profitability that place us among the very best performers in our industry, and to grow our business by approximately 15 percent a year. The ambition is to expand through organic and acquired growth in more or less equal measure, and a strong balance sheet provides a firm platform on which to build to achieve this aim.

Lorentzen & Wettre's New revised edition of the book Paper Optics
At Lorentzen & Wettre we have acquired more than 100 years of competence within the area of measuring pulp and paper properties. A large amount of this know-how is documented in different publications that have been published throughout the years. This time we release a new edition of the book: Paper Optics, by Nils Pauler (first published in 1986). It will be available in August (2012).
The book is a revised edition and is updated regarding optical and colour science related to the pulp and paper industry. It is a unique book providing great information on how light interacts with the structure of a sheet of paper, how paper's optical characteristics are measured, and how optical characteristics can be affected by paper and pulp manufacturing. Optical properties on printed material and new advanced optical theories are also covered.
Sharing knowledge, through literature like Paper Optics, shows Lorentzen & Wettre's engagement and commitment to the pulp and paper industry. Some previous publications from Lorentzen & Wettre have included Fibre Guide (fibre analysis and process applications), Testing Methods and Instruments for Corrugated Board (corrugated board strength tests) among others.
Topics in the book cover both basic and advanced levels. The book is often used as a reference for laboratory personnel and technicians within the pulp and paper industry.
The new revised edition of Paper Optics is published in English.
If you are interested in the book, please contact your local Lorentzen & Wettre representative (contact details are found on our website).
