From Tissue World magazine PMT will be promoting the expertise of its three sites with dedicated specialists targeted at servicing the tissue industry.

These are PMT Italia - the tissue machine, PMT Winding - the combining line, PMT Industries - the cast iron Yankee dryers.

PMT is also promoting its new VELUM tissue machine line (see tissue machine size chart).

She said: “PMT offers its clients customised technical solutions for new tissue plants, rebuilds and services taking advantage of the focused expertise coming from the three sites.

PMT Italia S.p.A. announces the successful startup of its latest ÆGO™FLX SHOE at Longview Fibre Paper and Packaging, Inc. in Longview, Washington (USA).

PMT recently rebuilt the PM11 press section of Longview Fibre Paper and Packaging, Inc. in Longview, Washington.  The press section was upgraded to improve the Sack Kraft paper quality and production.  The results of the upgrade are meeting expectations.

The scope of the rebuild included a new ÆGO™FLX SHOE module mated to a ceramic coated ÆGO™FLX ROLL with a new double doctor.  The equipment was successfully delivered, installed and started up under a tight schedule due to the cooperative efforts of the Longview and PMT project teams.

PMT is a global paper machinery producer, able to provide suppliers of every kind of paper with advanced equipment from headbox through winders, including integrated projects with basic or detailed engineering of associated auxiliary plant.

United Paper Industries Co., selected PMT Italia as the supplier of a major rebuild of their PM#1, located in Shuaiba Industrial Area, Kuwait.

The 2.6 m wide machine produces Sack Kraft as well Fluting and Test Liner, mainly using local OCC.

The project is expected to improve production capacity and paper strength by adding a new press section with  ÆGO™FLX SHOE DP, a new ÆGO™SIZER P and a new  ÆGO™REEL C. Other parts of the machine will also be modernized within a close cooperation between United Paper Mill’s plant management and PMT Engineers.

With the start up of this project, planned for the 4th quarter of 2013, PMT will have the first   ÆGO™FLX SHOE DP unit in the Middle East area.

This project follows other recent successful PMT references on Sack Kraft and Test Liner with similar rebuilds.

Sonia Bertetto has been appointed to the position of Tissue Sales Manager at PMT Italia with the task of consolidating PMT’s Tissue Business in its traditional geographic areas and expanding it worldwide, reporting to PMT Sales Director.

Sonia Bertetto earned a degree in IT Engineering at Politecnico di Torino and a master’s degree in Paper Making at EFPG in Grenoble (F).

Sonia started her career in the Paper Industry with PMT Italia in 2001. Since then she run several projects worldwide as a Project Manager, for different paper grades and tissue, gaining a vast and deep experience from engineering to contractual skills as well as from subcontracting to field services management.

Sonia already benefits from the trust of many PMT’s customers and PMT Italia’s Top Management believes she will boost the Company’s position in the Tissue market thanks to her wide skills and her broad experience.

The Turkish paper producer Alkim Kagit has signed, with full satisfaction for the fulfilment of all contractual performances, the Final Acceptance of the WF Writing & Printing PM1 Press Section rebuild project realised by PMT in February 2011.

The 4 m wide PM1 has been equipped with a new SMARNIP® Mini Shoe Press.

This successful project represents for PMT one step beyond for its presence on the Turkish Market and the confirmation of the SMARNIP winning application on graphic paper grades by paper quality improvement and increased production rates.

A leading pulp and paper company in Indonesia has selected PMT Italia as supplier for two replacement suction rolls (one pick-up roll and one press roll) for its pulp machine located in Sumatra, Indonesia.

The pulp machine produces Pulp from Acacia Mangium and Eucalyptus bleached wood. These suction rolls will be designed and manufactured in order to improve machine efficiency and clothing life. The start up is planned for the third quarter of 2012.

PMT Italia S.p.A. confirms with this supply its presence in Indonesia and demonstrates its capability to understand Indonesian paper mills’ requirements for a fruitful cooperation in facing a rapidly expanding pulp & paper production in this area.

PMT Italia S.p.A supplied, installed and started up a SMARNIP® Shoe Press at Cartiera del Chiese S.p.A. - Montichiari Mill.

The SMARNIP® Shoe Press was selected in order to optimise the production of smooth and semi-extensible sack kraft paper aiming production increase and quality improvement.

Also in this case the modularity and the compactness of the SMARNIP® Shoe Press resulted to be the key factor in applying the shoe press technology in a Press section rebuild, also improving the geometry of the first dryer group.

On January the 16th the SMARNIP® has been started up and the paper machine is now in its optimisation phase.
The SMARNIP® will achieve, thanks to its flexibility, the right balance among dry content after press, density, porosity and other typical sack kraft peculiarities.

This new project, developed by PMT, represents the confirmation of the market perception of PMT Italia as a reliable supplier amongst the leading paper machinery producers.

PMT Italia has been selected by Jiangmen Xinghui Paper Mill Co., Ltd. as a key partner for its new “White Line Chip Board” machine project. The new board machine will be installed in the Jiangmen, Guangdong province, close to the town of Shuangshui in the People Republic of China. The Start-up is scheduled for the end of 2013.

PMT Italia has been commissioned to supply technological paper machine sections like the four M4 Headboxes of which one with dilution control, a Shoe Press and a Winder. The new PM1 board machine will be designed to produce White Line Chip Board in the range of 230 to 500 gsm at a speed of 650 mpm, the trim width at the reel being 4.360 mm, with a forecast output of 300.000 mt/year.

The scope of supply includes the control and automation systems of the related paper machine sections to be integrated into the main MCS together with erection supervision, commissioning and start-up services.

It represents for PMT the acknowledgement of the highest level in board paper making technology reached through several successful projects. Moreover it is an opportunity to strengthen and consolidate once more its presence as well as to show its capabilities in the Chinese market.

PMT workshops have successfully concluded the entire pre-erection of a completely new Copy Paper Machine for the Company Advance Paper Mill 3 (doubleA) in Thailand.

The new machine sections are now being shipped to the mill site for erection.

The start-up of the new plant is scheduled for the second half of 2012.
