Burgo is now closer to its Polish customers: the brand newPolish branch - Burgo Polska - has just started operating in Warsaw.

The professional and experienced staff - led by Katarzyna Borowska, Managing Director - aims at providing publishers, printers and paper merchants of the Polish graphic market all the sales support needed in their daily business. 
Particularly, the branch will promote the wide range of Burgo's quality graphic papers, as well as granting high levels of service.

Solaris Flam, the fire-resistant grade from Mosaico Specialty Papers, is now even more accessorized.

Solaris Flam is a fire-resistant paper for indoor posters and to be laminated to board for POS display units, now also meeting the request for suspended advertising panels for shopping malls.

It provides top quality and today it has been enhanced with record ink-drying times to meet ever-shorter production times but also excellent opaqueness for printing on both sides and with no shining through effect.
Not only. It complies to strict safety norms. It is fire-resistant with M1 fire-reaction rating, and adheres to the strict requirements for use in public places that have very high and rigorous safety standards: shopping malls, undergrounds, railway stations, tunnels, cinemas, theatres, museums, etc.

Solaris Flam is available in both a two-side coated version (substance 190 and 250 gsm) and a one-side coated version (120 gsm).

Chiampo is the second Burgo Group paper mill to have achieved UNI EN 15593:2008 certification for "Management of hygiene in the production of packaging for foodstuffs" related to manufacturing of coated and uncoated papers.

This certification, which was achieved through the SGS certification agency, is further guarantee of the quality of the Group's management systems in the implementation of good manufacturing practices in the production of materials that come into contact with foods.

The Chiampo paper mill can therefore guarantee, now thanks also to this certification, that its products comply with the legal requirements applicable for food safety, helping to protect the image of those who market food products, guaranteeing their safety even at this stage of the chain.

Burgo Group is sponsoring Pier Luigi Nervi, Architettura come sfida (Pier Luigi Nervi, Architecture as a challenge), an itinerant exhibition which is coming to Torino Esposizioni from 29 April to 17 July.

The Turin edition, Torino, la committenza industriale, le culture architettoniche e politecniche italiane, includes in the exhibition and catalogue Nervi's design project for the Burgo plant in Mantua: the bridge-factory standing out for its suspension bridge outline and for the modernity with which it merges architecture and engineering, still now 50 years after start of the work (on February 1961).

The bridge paper mill, specialized in newsprint manufacturing, stands out, besides its architectural beauty, for its sustainability process; this is also attested officially by the EMAS registration issued in 2010 by the Ecolabel and Ecoaudit committee of the Ministry for the Environment and by the very recent FSC^® recycled certification.

Particularly green is also the Burgo paper on which the Silvana Editoriale catalogue is printed: Respecta 100, the new environmentally-friendly fine coated paper with FSC^® 100% recycled certification.

By this sponsorship Burgo is celebrating the beauty of Nervi's genius and, why not, the beauty of paper itself as a bridge to transmit ideas in the most natural way.

Good news for the Mantua paper mill.

After having obtained the EMAS registration, the plant has just received the FSC^® 100% recycled certification; this attests that fibres used for the production of certified newsprint paper are 100% recycled and that the principles of environmental, economic and social responsibility are preserved.

Both documents highlight the strong paper mill attitude towards sustainability: starting from internal deink process of waste paper, up to manufacturing residues reused for electrical energy generation, the whole located against the subtly beautiful cultural backdrop of the city of Mantua and the Mincio Natural Park.

MIZAR is the two-side coated paper for digital printing distributed by Mosaico Specialty Papers.

Now it has also passed the exams: it has in fact passed the Testexpertise Océ and has been included in the Guide to certified supports for the brand new "Color Stream 10000 Flex" web-fed digital color press.

Printability and runability tests have been carried out by Océ Paper Lab at Poing (Germany) which proved that Mizar is suitable for OPS - High Performance Continuous Forms Printing System with Infrared fusing.

Océ ColorStream 10000 Flex is the fastest toner-based color-capable continuous feed printer in the market, offering an unmatched flexibility from maximum b/w productivity through to full color production.

Last October a crew shot the whole production cycle of the black-glue laminated cardboard: from the raw materials, through the production line, up to the lab tests, lingering specially on the core of our product, the carbon black glue lamination phase.

Play Duplex is a coated woodfree light board whose main end use are playing cards, but it is also the ideal support for phone and calling cards, as well as collection cards.
It features excellent brightness, stiffness and opacity, besides a rich range of finishes (gloss, satin, linen embossed).

The Belgian Burgo Ardennes sa company, owned by Burgo Group, has attained the OHSAS 18001:2007 certification.
The OHSAS (Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series) certification identifies the International occupational health and safety management system specification standard.

The certification of conformity attained by Burgo Ardennes certifies the voluntary application of a management system within the organisation granting adequate control, as well as strict and effective management of Health and Safety of people engaged in work, besides the full respect of current regulations and Company's values.

The management system regulated by OHSAS rule is set up by integration with the environmental management system inspired by the 14001 norm: occupational health and safety are important part of the continuous commitment of the Company towards a respectful and sustainable development.

Coherently, OHSAS certification follows ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certifications , FSC® and PEFC® chain-of-custody certifications and EMAS registration, all already attained by Burgo Ardennes, pursuing thus a policy of continuous improvement and constant concern on environmental matters.
